Week 11 PSYCHO aWARD: Off the Upright and GOOD
The weekly PSYCHO aWARD goes to the players, officials, or team that cause you to curse at the TV during the game and puts you on the edge of insanity.
There were several nominees for Week 11 that ranged from the Bills secondary getting torched by Moss to the Redskins secondary getting torched by Owens, but the unanimous winner goes to the referee's reversal. In one of the most bizarre plays you will ever witness, Phil Dawson's game tying 51 yard field goal hit the upright, bounced off the crossbar and then fell back into the end zone. Ravens fans began exiting the stadium and Ravens players headed to the locker room thinking they had won the game. But then the improbable occurred, the referees discussed it and decided that the football did pass through the upright and the kick was actually good. (Click here to witness).

Week 10 PSYCHO aWARD
Week 10 PSYCHO aWARD: Baltimore Ravens Offense
The weekly PSYCHO aWARD goes to the players, officials, or team that cause you to curse at the TV during the game and puts you on the edge of insanity.
There were several nominees for Week 10 that ranged from the referees reversing a Colts 1st down at the end of the game to the Saints losing to the winless Rams, but the unanimous winner goes to the Baltimore Ravens offense. It is offensive and we are very tired of hearing about how Brian Billick was once an offensive genius. Steve McNair is washed up and to think that no one on the Ravens coaching staff can see this is amazing. McNair passed for only 128 yards, lost two fumbles and threw an interception against the 31st ranked defense! (Click here for game recap).

Atlanta Falcons (+4) at Carolina Panthers
DeAngelo Hall will not lose his cool this week and the Atlanta Falcons will prevail. The Panthers did beat the Falcons in week 3 but the Panthers lost Jake Delhomme for the season and are still struggling to fill his shoes. David Carr is actually ruled out for Week 10 and Matt Moore might get the start this week for the Panthers. If this is the case, the Falcons defensive game plan has become very simple, just key on DeShaun Foster who had burned them for 2 td's in week 3. I am very comfortable taking the 4 points and the Falcons this week. Joey Harrington had his best game of the year against the Panthers in week 3 throwing for 361 yards and 2 touchdowns. Carolina is winless at home this year and are also 1-8 against the spread in their last 9 games on grass.

NFL Bargain Bets Week 10
NFL Bargain Bets: Week 10
November 8th 2007
by Old Man Winner
This is Upset Week. I'm taking the three games (teams) getting the most points this week. I'll go even further out on a limb and predict that at least one of these teams will win outright.
Cleveland Browns +9.5 @ Pittsburg Steelers
Cleveland is on a roll and is quickly becoming an offensive juggernaut. Derek Anderson is for real (Brady who?), Braylon Edwards may be the best receiver in football, Kellen Winslow catches everything within reach, and Jamal Lewis is serviceable (4TD's last week). Pittsburgh has looked good, especially defensively, but if Anderson gets any time, he should be able to beat the Pitt secondary. I love getting points against teams coming off big Monday night wins. They often get surprised.
St. Louis Rams +11.5 @ New Orleans Saints
Yes, the Rams are winless. Yes, the Rams are horrible. Yes, the Rams have only covered the spread once this year. Yes, the Rams have no one to block for SJax or protect Bulger. Yes, NO has turned the corner and look more like last year's team than the winless one from earlier this season. Yes, the Brees to Colston connection is back. Yes, Bush is finally getting into the end zone more regularly. Yes, the Saints are playing at home in the dome. Yes, take the Rams and the points.
San Francisco 49ers +10 @ Seattle Seahawks
The 49ers have lost their last six games, but they're just not that bad. The Seahawks four wins are against teams with a combined record of 9-24. Much of the reason the spread is this high is based on the earlier game between these two teams in which Seattle trounced SF 23-3. However, that was the game that Alex Smith was knocked out early in the game and an unprepared and under skilled Trent Dilfer had to pinch hit. Vernon Davis was also out that game. The 49ers are healthier now and should find a way to cover if not win.

Week 9 PSYCHO aWARD
The weekly PSYCHO aWARD goes to the players, officials, or team that cause you to curse at the TV during the game and puts you on the edge of insanity.
There were several nominees for Week 9 that ranged from the Raiders attempting a 64 yard field in the 2nd quarter of a game that no one watched to a now 1-8 team punting the ball while on the opponent's 39 yard line in overtime, but the unanimous winner goes to the San Diego Chargers defense. Where was the rush defense for the Chargers? Everyone knew who was going to get the ball yet Adrian Peterson ran for a NFL record 296 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. Not even a 109 missed field goal returned for a touchdown could spoil his day. Here is the video recap of the record setting day. (click here).

NFL Bargain Bets Week 9
San Diego Chargers -7.5 @ Minnesota Vikings
Don't Turnerround uh oh, the Chargers are in town, uh oh! San Diego is back to their 2006 form after winning their last three games by an average of 26 points. LT is running, Gates is scoring TD's and they now have a legit WR in Chris Chambers, who scored in his first game with his new team. The Vikings, unfortunately, are also back to their last year form - trying to win with a stout run defense and rush the ball themselves. That may have been a winning formula at some point, but that was "so 50 years ago." Expect the Vikings to win the rushing battle. Expect the Chargers to win the War!
Washington Redskins -3.5 @ New York Jets
What happens when a bully you "can't take" kicks your ass? That's right, you come home and kick your little brother's ass! That's what I expect the Redskins to do to the Jets after getting thoroughly annihilated by Brady and the Pats last week 52-7 (and they were lucky to score the 7). The stars align when a team comes off a game like that and then plays a weak team that throws out a new QB for his first NFL start. And, to add insult to injury, the Jets look to be without their biggest playmaker on offense (Coles) and defense (Vilma). The Jets can't stop the run, so Portis should be able to pad his stats this weekend. The odds are also pretty good for a Redskin defensive score in this one.
Oakland Raiders -3 vs. Houston Texans
Sometimes its all about the matchups. This one just doesn't work for the Texans. They cannot run the ball (30th), so they pass. Oakland can defend the pass (3rd). Oakland can't pass, so they'll run. Houston can't stop the run (20th). Both teams have been bitten by significant injuries. Houston will be playing without their starting QB (Schaub), #1 WR (Andre Johnson), and RB (Ahman Green). If they were somewhat inept with these guys playing, we should expect them to be downright pathetic without them. This could come down to a game of kickers and SeaBass (Janikowski) has dropped his excess lbs, is healthy, and is kicking better than ever. I think the Texans get lost in the vortex known as "The Black Hole" in this one.
