2008 Pro Bowl Snubs

The AFC and NFC Pro Bowl roster has been selected for 2008. You can find the official list of Pro Bowl players on NFL.com. The players were selected by combined voting from fans, players and coaches. We at PylonPicks.com felt that injustice has been served.

Below are some deserving players that were left off of the Pro Bowl roster.
First, we will start off with the NFC.

WR - Marques Colston (New Orleans Saints)
1092 receiving yards which is 4th in NFC with 9 TD's, also 4th in NFC.
Donald Driver's only real highlight of 2007 was catching the Favre pass that allowed Brett to become the career leader in yards passing. As a matter of fact, Greg Jennings, Driver's teammate, was probably more deserving as he had 12 TD's and 878 yards receiving.

CB - Charles Woodson (Green Bay Packers)
It is Woodson not Al Harris that is the difference maker in the Packers secondary. You can just take a look at the Cowboys/Packers game for evidence.

OLB - Ernie Simms (Detroit Lions)
Ernie isn't really mentioned anywhere on people's snub lists. I feel he got totally snubbed, just look at his statistics. He made 122 tackles, had 3 forced fumbles and 1 interception.

K Mason Crosby (Green Bay Packers)
Nick Folk did make the same 50 yard field goal twice in the Buffalo game. This probably solidified his Pro Bowl appearance but we feel Mason Crosby had an even better season with 29 made Field Goals, 3 being 50+ and 43 PAT.

Now for the AFC.

RB - Jamal Lewis (Cleveland Browns)
Jamal Lewis had 1084 rushing yards (3rd in AFC) and 9 rushing TD's along with 205 receiving yards and 2 TD's. Lewis's statistics are truely impressive considering he is sharing the ball with the like of Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow (another Pro Bowl snub). Lewis better be a lock for Comeback Player Of The Year.

TE - Kellen Winslow (Cleveland Browns)
We are sticking with the Browns here for a moment as they probably have the most Pro Bowl snubs worth mentioning. Winslow had 71 receptions, was tied for first in the AFC with 971 receiving yards in AFC and had 5 TD receptions.

T - Joe Thomas (Cleveland Browns)
You can't have all these playmakers without a solid offensive line. I think Ravens' Jonathan Ogden was not as deserving as Thomas. Ogden didn't even play in all his games this year (only 9) and the Ravens lost to the Dolphins, enough said.

DE - Mario Williams (Houston Texans)
We are finally onto a player not on the Browns. Mario Williams has totally convinced many critics that he should have been the #1 draft pick. Williams posted 13 sacks, 53 tackles, and had 2 forced fumbled.

Well there you go. There is plenty to debate on. It will be interesting to watch teams like Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, and New Orleans in week 16 to see if they use non Pro Bowl representation as a motivation tool.
